MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A radio station called Rabia Balkhi in northern Balkh province came back to the airwaves on Wednesday after ceasing broadcasting a year ago when a fire breakout gutted its office and equipment.
An official of the radio, Shakeeba Muhad, told Pajhwok Afghan News the fire broke out due to an electric short-circuit about a year ago and destroyed the office and equipment and as a result the radio stopped broadcasting.
She added that she reactivated the radio after spending $40,000and the radio started broadcasting today. Muhad said that the radio was run by women . . .
