3 drug smugglers detained, 1 injured in Ghor clash

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three drug smugglers were arrested and a fourth was wounded during a clash with security forces in the newly-created Al Farooq district of western Ghor province, an official said on Tuesday.

Maulvi Abdul Wahid Hammas, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place on Monday night.

He said: “A clash erupted between Mujahideen and drug smugglers and as a result, three of them were detained, one injured and a fifth managed to flee.”

According to Hammas, efforts are underway to arrest the escaping smuggler.
