FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The Kabul-Ghor highway was reopened on Wednesday after remaining closed for three days due to heavy snowfall in western Ghor province.
The highway was closed three days ago at the Babak Pass after heavy snowfall.
Abdul Wahid Hammas, spokesman for the Ghor governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Passengers who were trapped at Bakak Pass due to the heavy snowfall were rescued personnel of the Islamic Emirate today”.
Provincial officials said 20 vehicles carrying passengers, including women and children, had been stranded on both sides of the Bakak Pass.
The vehicles including vans, cars and tractors were rescued along with their occupants this morning, the officials added.
The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) in a video clip said that the highway was opened today (Wednesday) for vehicular movement following efforts of the personnel of the Public Works Department of Bamyan province.
