FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): About 35 ancient artifacts have been found in the Minaret of Jam area of western Ghor province, an official said on Tuesday.
An Information and Culture Department official told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Work has lately been underway on strengthening the Minaret of Jam under the supervision of archaeologists.”
Mullah Nizamuddin Ibrahimi said 15 metal coins and 20 other monuments were found as a result of excavation in the area. They seem to date back to the Ghori era.
The newly-found coins and artifacts were handed over the local museum in the presence of the Maulvi Abdul Hai Zaeem, director of information and culture.
