MAIMANA (Pajhwok): At least 18 wedding guests have been poisoned and a civilian shot dead in northern Faryab province, official said on Wednesday.
The poisoned individuals, including 11 women and seven men, were taken to hospital, Mufti Mohammad Ismail, the crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The motive behind the incident was not immediately known. No arrests have been made in this connection. He said some poisonous substance had been added to the wedding meal. Relevant authorities are probing the issue.
