JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A mentally-retarded person has committed suicide in eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Abdul Basir Zabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Momandara district yesterday afternoon.
He said 55 years old Rahimdad shot himself in the head and died instantly.
According to Zabuli, Rahimdad had a mental illness.
Local resident Nawab Khan said Rahimdad was very poor and he killed himself due to poverty.
Zabuli said police had launched their investigation to reveal the facts.
It comes days after a person committed suicide in Spinghar district of Nangarhar.
