GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Some residents in southern Ghazni province have complained against the low quality services of telecommunication companies and said they faced problems in their daily activities and businesses.

They claimed the service of telecommunication companies had deteriorated now compared to the past and accused local government officials for their negligence in this regard.

Niamatullah Afghanpal, the resident of Ghazni City, told Pajhwok Afghan News now people desperately needed telecommunication service and internet but its quality was bad in the provincial capital and worse in the districts.

He said: “We are always facing problems, the quality of telecommunication services has really deteriorated during these nights, some networks are not working in the houses and people have important jobs to perform, the networks are weak, we go to the roof with every connection, it is not possible to do our work properly.”

Abdul Rahman, another resident of Ghazni City, who has fuel business said: “When I call someone the communication cut and interrupted several times and when it is connected then we could not hear one another.”

The telecommunication companies’ service is zero and the government also charge 10 percent tax on credit card. In 1,000 afs 100 afs go to the government but still the government failed to provide proper service to the people of Ghazni.

In addition, some Ghazni residents complained that often credit available in the phone and the internet MBs are charged without use.

The said: “No one is satisfied with telecommunication services. If you put credit on your mobile phone, they turn it on your head, then they say, this and that packages have been activated for you, but you will not know about anything. In the past 5 GB internet was too much but now it disappear soon. Telecom networks are also stealing MBs.”

Mawlavi Abdul Wali Tayyib Ahmad, head of the Communication and Information Technology Department, during an inclusive interview to Pajhwok Afghan News acknowledged some technical problems and faults in the telecommunication sector and added work was underway on these problems and would be addressed soon.

“We pressed telecom companies to improve their service and their heads acknowledged that in the near future they will improve their service and install new communication system.”

“We share some recommendations with the centre as well regarding the improvement in the telecom services, and practical work on these recommendations will start after the centre approval.”

This comes that currently; one state and four private companies provided telecom service to the people in Ghazni province.
