KABUL (Pajhwok): Former President Hamid Karzai during a meeting with Norwegian Chargé d'Affaires for Afghanistan has stressed the need for the return of girls and women to education and work in the country.
Hamid Karzai wrote on his Twitter that they discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and emphasized on the opening of schools and universities for girls and the return of women to work.
He added that both sides expressed happiness over the outcome of the Doha meeting and hoped that international efforts to solve Afghanistan's problems would continue.
Karzai also called the initiation of ‘national dialogue’ necessary to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country.
The former president expressed his gratitude for Norway’s assistance to Afghanistan and hoped for further development of relations between the two countries.
