KABUL (Pajhwok): The cricket board on Sunday put on display for the first time the trophies won by the national cricket team in various international events at an ongoing exhibition in Kabul.
The ‘Kabul International Exhibition’ commenced in Kabul on Thursday with the aim to find market for domestic products, encourage investors, establish relations between businessmen and introduce domestic products to the people.
On the fourth day of the exhibition, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) for the first time exhibited the cups won by the national cricket team in various international games.
ACB executive director Naseeb Khan told Pajhwok the cups were put on display in order fans could see the achievements of their national side.
He said ACB had always presented good culture, industry and products of Afghanistan to the world, calling on businessmen and companies to financially support the national cricket team.
Afghanistan ODI and Test captain Hashmatullah Shahidi told Pajhwok at the venue that the trophies on display were the achievements of the Afghan team.
He said the team had won these cups in different international competitions and countries.
In response to a question from Pajhwok reporter about the upcoming matches between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, Shahidi said that the Afghan team was all poised for the three one-day matches with Sri Lanka and would have good achievements.
Afghanistan will play three ODIs against Sri Lanka on the 2nd, 4th and 7th of June.
