KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) says the illicit poppy crop on more than 1,000 acres of land has been eradicated in nine provinces.
Abdul Nafe Takor, spokesman for MoI, tweeted that security personnel destroyed poppies on over 388 acres of land in Faryab.
He wrote 260 acres of poppies were eradicated in Badakhshan, 200 acres in Paktika, more than 150 acres in Nangarhar, 70 acres in Takhar, 19 acres in Kunar, five acres in Balkh and two acres in Ghor.
On Saturday, MoI said the illegal crops on nearly 300 acres of land been destroyed in Takhar . . .
