MEHTARLAM (Pawjhok): A system to detect vehicles’ speed has been activated on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway, traffic police in eastern Laghman provincel said on Sunday.
Maulavi HabibullahMubariz, Laghman traffic police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mobile system to control vehicles’ speed was activated today.
Speed limit for every road has been determined and if a vehicle exceeds the speed limit, the driver will be punished by parking his vehicle for two hours, he said.
Mubariz expressed hope that the speed monitoring would help prevent traffic accidents.
Some passengers said drivers over speeded against their wishes.
