20 tons of ephedra plant recovered, destroyed in Bamyan

BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok):  Security forces have recovered and destroyed 20 tons of ephedra plant in the Yakwlang district of central Bamyan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Mohammad Khwani Rasa told Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces recovered 20 tons of ephedra during an operation in the Hazar Cheshma area of the district late on Tuesday.

He said the plant was used in making crystal meth drug.
