ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Russia has renewed call for a broad-based government in Afghanistan and linked the formal recognition of the 'Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan' (IEA) government with its implementation, according to a media report.
Russia cannot begin the process of recognizing the caretaker government as long as an inclusive government is formed, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told an audience at the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University on Tuesday, TASS reported.
In a meeting in Dushanbe with his Tajikistani counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Lavrov stressed countering terrorism, illegal migration and narcotics in Afghanistan.
