NEILI (Pajhwok): At least 20 died of Tuberculosis (TB) in central Daikundi province last year, an official said on Thursday.
Sayed Ishaq Hussaini, head of controlling and preventing TB in the provincial hospital, revealed the figures while addressing an event marking World Tuberculosis Day.
He said 675 positive TB cases were diagnosed at the hospital last year and 20 of the patients lost their lives. He said 15,211 suspected cases were recorded in the districts.
According to Hussaini, there are 18 tuberculosis diagnosis centers, two screening machines and 45 technical personnel working to fight the disease.
