US, UAE discuss shared interests in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas West has discussed shared interests in the war-torn country with United Arab Emirates presidential advisor Anwar Gargash.

In a tweet, West said “appreciate the principled leadership UAE has shown in prioritizing the rights of Afghan women and girls in its engagement.”

He said he was looking forward to continued UAE-US collaboration in support of Afghan people.

Before this, West had met UK officials in London to discuss Afghanistan.
