IEA supreme leader: Power abuse, nepotism not allowed

KABUL (Pajhwok): Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s supreme leader Maulavi Hebatullah Akhundzada has directed government officials to avoid nepotism and misuse of authority.

IEA spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a press release last night said that Sheikh Hebatullah Akhundzada issued the directives during a meeting with information and culture directors of all the provinces in southern Kandahar province.

Acting Information and Culture Minister Mullah Khairullah Khair Khwah, his deputies in administrative and financial affairs Mullah Saaduddin Akhund, publications Maulavi HayatullahMuhajirFarahi, youths affairs Qari Mohammad Younus Rashid and Zabihullah Mujahid were also present on the occasion.

According to the press release, Akhunzada gave necessary instructions to the provincial directors of information and culture and were made aware of their obligations and duties and assured all kind of support.

They were asked to care about anyone in order to implement Sharia law, according to Mujahid, who quoted the supreme leader as instructing the officials not to hire someone based on relationship and not use their power for personal benefits.

Provincial information and culture director of Khost Mullah Shabir Ahmad Osmani, of Kandahar Mufti Inamullah Samangani, of Herat Maulana Naeemulhaq Haqqani and of Balkh province Maulavi Zabihullah Noorani spoke on behalf of other directors and expressed their demands.
