SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): With soaring temperature seasonal diseases in northern Samangan province have widespread as more people have got infected while there are complaints against the lack of health facilities in the province.
Dr. Syed Usman Hamidi, deputy head of the Samangan Provincial Hospital told Pajhwok Afghan News with increase in temperature diseases like vomiting and diarrhea had increases.
He said in March this year 1,600 patients while in April 3,500 patients suffering from diarrhea referred to the hospital for treatment.
He added there was a surge in diarrhea patients in May as 4,300 patients referred to the hospital for treatment and present number showed that the number of patients was on the raise.
He said mostly children and elderly people suffered from Diarrhea adding that sometimes Diarrhea is because of corolla.
He linked the non-availability of drinking water, economic problems, improper food diet as reason behind the growing seasonal diseases..
Khalida Fahima, a child mother who was sick and referred to the Hospital for treatment, complained against surge in the number of patients and lack of medical personnel. She demanded the provision of more facilities in the hospital.
“My child suffered diarrhea so I brought it to the hospital, but situation here is not good, three to four children allotted one bed, there are a lot of problems and there is need for improvement,” she said.
Nazefa, another mother who also brought her child to the hospital for treatment, said doctors tried to provide treatment for the patients but the government has failed to provide proper health facilities.
Rona, another mother, said the hospital was lacking health personnel, beds, medical facilities and other equipment.
