PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Public Health Department of central Logar province says hospitals and health centers in the province are facing shortage of medicines.
Fahimullah Lodin, media official of the Public Health Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News since last month, all health centres, including Naib Aminullah Khan Logari Hosptial, were facing the shortage of medicines.
Lodin said the shortage of medicines in hospitals was a serious problem which had been shared with the Ministry of Public Health and international organizations.
Karimullah, whose relative is admitted in the provincial hospital, told Pajhwok that he bought all medicines required from the market because the drugs were not available in the hospital.
He said he was told by doctors that there were no medicines in the hospital for the past one month and he should buy medicines from the market.
Ahmad Musawir, a resident of Mohammad Agha, told Pajhwok that the 50-bed hospital of Shaheed Shafiqullah Lodin in the district had run out of medicines since the past one month and people were facing problems.
He called on MoPH and related institutions to solve the problem of lack of medicine in Logar public sector hospitals.
The issue arises at a time whenthe number of patients visiting public hospitals has increased recently.
