BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work on 13 projects estimated to cost more than $900,000 has been launched in central Bamyan province, an official said on Sunday.
Bamyan mayor Maulvi Rozi Mohammad Afkar told Pajhwok Afghan News that the projects were being executed with financial support of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
He added the schemes included construction of a 2,691-meter agricultural water canal, 795 meters of distributary irrigation canal, 460 meters of retaining wall, repair and gravelling of 5,300 meters of roads and construction of 1,330 meters of service road.
