ATLANTA (Pajhwok) NATO Secretary General has said that the alliance must stand together for the rules-based international order.
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed NATO’s close partners Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea and the European Union to a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the Summit in Vilnius on Wednesday (12 July 2023).
At the start of the meeting, Stoltenberg said that Russia’s war in Ukraine has global ramifications, that terrorist and cyber threats know no borders and that authoritarian regimes are coming closer together, ”so we must stand together for the rules-based international order”.
NATO is a regional Alliance between Europe and North America but the challenges we face are global and our security is interconnected. He added.
Stoltenberg said, What happens in the Euro-Atlantic region matters for the Indo-Pacific, and what happens in the Indo-Pacific matters to the Euro-Atlantic.
The war in Ukraine has global ramifications. Terrorist and cyber-threats know no borders.
And authoritarian regimes are coming closer together. So we must stand together for the rules-based international order. He said.
