HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Herat City Municipality collected over 190 million afs revenue during the first four months of ongoing solar year while the local residents have stressed over the implementation of development projects with the collected revenue.
Municipality Spokesperson Mohammad Nasir Armal told Pajhwok Afghan News they collected over 190 million afs revenue from its resources in the first quarter of the ongoing year.
“The sources of revenue collection are the provision of urban services, duty charged in the city entrance gates, hygiene charges from homes, commercial areas, bills, licenses and rent from the municipality's properties in the province,” he said. The collected revenue had landed in the state treasury, he said.
Shahfiullah Zahiri, the resident of Herat City, said that a large number of streets inside the city needed construction. He added the municipality did informed people from its financial condition in time.
He said people in the city need more facilities, and in this regard, based on a regular plan, the municipal administration should be aware of the problems of the people and act to solve them in a timely manner
He stressed the municipality should spent more money on development work in the city.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier, the municipality had said that it estimated to collect one billion afs in revenue till the end of ongoing year from its resources.
