PARAKH (Pajhwok): The residents of Dara and Abshar districts in central Panjsher province have complained against the rough and dilapidated condition of their roads and demanded relevant authorities to take steps for the reconstruction or roads in these districts.
Gul Zaman Noori, the resident of Abshar district, said travelling on district road was difficult.
“The construction of this road was ignored during the past 20 years and now the current government should pay attention for the construction of this vital road,” he said.
Azizullah, the resident of Abdullahkhel district in Dara district, said their district’s road was constructed during the past regime but it was not asphalted and now it was in terrible condition.
He said the dilapidated condition of roads forced people to pay up to 2,000 afs fare for the transfer of urgent patient to Kabul, in addition, people faced problems in the transfer of essential food items as well.
He also asked relevant authorities to address this serious issue that they are faced with.
Abdul Farooq, another resident of Abdullahkhelo village, said: “Around 60 small villages related to the Abullahkhelo area are facing serious problems due to the bumpy nature of the road, without ranger vehicles other could not travel on this road, the entire road had been distracted.”
Mawlavi Nasrullah Malakzada, head of the Panjsher Information and Cultural Affairs Department, acknowledged the delipadated condition of roads in Dara and Abshar districts and said the reason behind the destruction of the road was floods in summer and raising level of river water.
He said local authorities striving for the construction of alternative road.
