ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Afghanistan have moved up 10 places in world futsal rankings after winning the second place in the Central Asia Futsal Association (CAFA) Championship.
The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) said after winning the second place in the CAFA championship, the national squad had drawn international attention.
According to the latest rankings, AFF said in a statement, Afghanistan had gone up 10 notches in World Futsal Rankings and had become third in Asia.
AFF added Afghanistan had moved up to 76th position in World Futsal Ranking and 14th in Asia. It is the best international and Asian ranking in Afghanistan futsal’s history.
Earlier in the week, Afghanistan defeated Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the CAFA Championship and held Tajikistan to a draw. They, however, lost to Iran.
