KABUL (Pajhwok): Two development projects have been executed at a cost of 228,000 US dollars and work on two others launched at the Kabul International Airport.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, the projects included Khyber intersection which was constructed by Super Cola Company at a cost of $70,000.
Also, the main airport gate was built at a cost of $30,000 with financial support from the Harirod Construction Company and put into service today (Thursday).
Maulvi Abdul Hadi Mohammad, head of the Kabul International Airport said construction work on electric stairs, funded by Kam Air, was launched at a cost of $70,000 in the international terminal.
He said work on the Hazrat Mustafa Mosque was also initiated at the airport. The mosque is being built on 104 square metres of land with financial support from Aro Petroleum. A 5 million afs project, it will have capacity for 90 worshipers.
The official appreciated the construction companies for taking part in the implementation of the schemes.
About 100,000 people, including 60,000 foreigners, travelled through the Kabul International Airport every month, he estimated.
Up to 30 flights take off from the airport daily and 10,700 foreigners from 75 countries visited Afghanistan in past month, according to Abdul Hadi Mohammad.
