KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Program (WFP) on Saturday said more than 5.7 million people received cash or vouchers in assistance in Afghanistan so far this year.
In a tweet, WFP said the assistance was provided with generous support from UNCERF and the governments of France and Japan during the past seven months to give recipients control over what they buy, reduce the need for food assistance and to strengthen the local economy.
The World Food Program provided no further details about the aid.
