TALOQAN (Pajhwok): A young man in northern Takhar province has provided employment to another 15 youths by investing 500,000 afghanis.

Syedal Pirzada has established a café selling dried fruit juices in Taloqan city with the aim to create employment opportunities.

Speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, the entrepreneur said he decided to start the business to help a number of youth support their families.

Pirzada said: “My goal is to do business and provide work to a number of jobless people.”

He has invested 500,000 afghanis and hired 15 unemployed youths so that they could earn and support their families.

He further said instead of going to foreign countries, the youth should create employment opportunities in the country in order to contribute to the country’s economic development and growth.

This young entrepreneur went on to say: “Another goal to establish this café is to use native dried fruits instead of foreign products.”

Meanwhile, some residents of Takhar welcomed the establishment of such cafes and said that the government should support such entrepreneurs.

Kambez Pooya, a resident of Takhar, told Pajhwok that in the wake of limited employment opportunities, the government, well-off people and aid organizations should support the youth who wanted to create jobs for others.

Dawood Mohammadi, another resident, said creating the ground for such job creation will encourage others to start entrepreneurship, which will reduce the high unemployment rate and prevent brain drain abroad.

He also wanted the government to support such people.

The young men working in the café were satisfied with their work and earning.

One of them Ziaul Haq, a resident of Herat province, said: “I had been searching for work for months and was tired of being unemployed. I decided to go to Iran, but now that I have a job in this cafe, I can support my family.”
