KABUL (Pajhwok): Based on the request of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP), the Islamic Emirate (IE) leadership has approved a cut in export duty on coal from 2,500 afs to 2,200 afs per each metric ton.
MoMP in a press release today (Sunday) said custom duty on coal was $45 in the past, but it was reduced to $30 per metric ton.
The step was taken considering coal rate in global markets and to support country’s exports and attract further investment in this sector.
According to MoMP, this decision shall take effect from today.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced a $20 decrease in custom duty on each metric ton of coal about two months ago.
