KABUL (Pajhwok): Tasnim News Agency says its photographer has been handed over to the Iranian embassy in Kabul.
The semi-official Iranian media outlet reported that its photographer Mohammad Hossain Velayati would soon be transferred to Iran.
Velayati’s release comes after Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amiabdollahian wrote on his X handle last night about “intensive diplomatic efforts” to secure the release of Velayati, photographer and editor of Tasnim news agency.
According to reports, the photographer was arrested last week by Islamic Emirate forces when he wanted to return to Iran.
