Scolded by father, teenage boy ends life in Badakhshan

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself to death in northeastern Badakhshan province on Wednesday, police said.

Police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgaar told Pajhwok Afghan News that Rahimullah, 16, ended his life by hanging himself after being scolded by his father today afternoon.

He said the teenager disappeared after reprimanded by his father two days ago and his body was found hanging in a ruined house in limits of 6^th police district.

Relatives of the boy say he was working as an apprentice at a mechanic workshop in Faizabad city. The boy did not go the workshop for several days and for this he was scolded by his father.

Religious scholars say suicide is a major sin and no one should commit such a major sin due to life problems that can be solved.
