AIBAK (Pajhwok): A number of foreigners visiting northern Samangan province say that tourist attractions in Afghanistan have encouraged them to travel to the country and see historical sites.

Priya Ravindra Darshan, an American who visited Takht-i-Rostan, told Pajhwok Afghan News Afghanistan had many tourist attractions.

Palpably pleased to be in Afghanistan, the American woman said she was so excited about seeing historical and ancient places in the country.

Jason Wang, another tourist, commended Afghanistan’s food, hospitality, security and the amazing view of Takht-i-Rostan: “We are so happy and thrilled visiting such beautiful places.

Qari Tajuddin Tanish, an official of the Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok during the past six months, nearly 250 foreign tourists had visited different historical places in the province.

In the past six months, he added, visitors from Italy, France, China, Holland, America, Poland, Germany and India had toured the province.

According to official information, there are nearly 114 historical and ancient sites in Samangan. Of them 106 are registered with the Ministry of Information and Culture.

Historical sites

Bala Hesar-i-Shahr Qadeem, Khwaja Ismail shrine, Katbiya-i-Rubatak, the Cave of Qara-i-Kamar, the Valley of Forty Girls, the Throne of Changez, Sam Dol Dol, Panja Shah, Ghartash-i-Toti, Hazarsom and Takht-i-Rostan are attracting foreign tourists these days.

Tanish said about 140,480 afghanis had been earned from tourism in Samangan.

Meanwhile, Director of Information Maulvi Ferozddin Munib said security had been ensured in all provinces in the wake of the Islamic Emirate’s return to power.
