KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Uzbekistan have discussed a railroad project and connecting South and Central Asia through it.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) wrote on its X handle the meeting was held at the Kabul International Airport on Sunday.
Ilkhom Mokhkamov, Uzbekistan’s transport minister, Babur Islamov, Unbekistan’s mines minister, and a high level UAE delegation attended the meeting.
Acting Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Hamidullah Akhundzada, Mines and Petroleum Minister Shahabuddin Dilawar and Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA) chief Bakhtur Rahman Sharafat participated in the huddle.
The participants discussed different issues such as the development of railroads and connecting South and Central Asia and rail transit.
A month ago, a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan travelled to Afghanistan and visited some transit points, including Torkham. The delegates emphasised on cooperation in this area.
