Asian Games: Hotak moves into wushu quarterfinals

ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Afghan wushu athlete Mohammad Khalid Hotak has trounced his Kazakh opponent at Asian Games in China.

Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation spokesman Zabihullah Shahzad wrote on his Facebook page that Hotak took on his Kazakh rival.

The Afghan athlete won the contest in the 70-kilogram weight category in the second round and found the way to the quarterfinal.

He said Hotak would meet an Indian player in the next encounter. If he wins, the Afghan will face a Chinese athlete in the semi-final.

Hotak is the only wushu athlete who has won a bronze award in the 2023 Central Asia Championship.
