MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A man shot and killed a male nurse and then injured himself at a private hospital in the capital of northern Faryab province, an official said on Monday.
Damlla Mohammad Maawez, crime branch police deputy chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Sunday night in the limits of 2nd police district of Maimana City.
He said Naseer Ahmad, 30, entered a five-bed hospital where he gunned down Mohammad Zaman, nurse of the health center, and then injured himself.
He said: “The killer is the son of the hospital owner and the motive behind the murder is not yet clear, but he is injured and currently under treatment.”
An eyewitness told Pajhwok that Mohammad Zaman was sitting with his friends in the duty room when Naseer Ahmad came and opened fire at him.
He said Mohammad Zaman was a resident of Qoroghqul village of Qaisar district.
