ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Afghan businessman Mirwais Azizi has announced 200 million afghanis in aid to victims of the devastating earthquake in western Herat province.
Several quakes struck Herat and neighbouring provinces on Saturday, destroying hundreds of houses and leaving 2053 people dead and injured.
The Natural Disaster Management Authority said over 1,320 homes had been destroyed and most of the casualties happened in Zinda Jan and Ghorian districts of the province.
Mirwais Azizi, who also heads the Azizi Group, donated 200 million afs and extended condolences to the victims.
Azizi wrote on his X handle the assistance would be distributed . . .
