KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 500 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza city, says a media report.
According to an Anadolu reporter, thousands of Palestinians were at the hospital when the building came under bombardment.
Israeli air raids continued to hit Gaza early on Wednesday, hours after a strike killed more than 500 people at the hospital, a resident of the besieged territory said.
“The people are living in fear and anxiety. Bombings are everywhere,” Hamza Ibrahim said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
“I could hear the bombing just outside my house,” he said, adding that the situation “is getting worse by the day”.
In addition to condemning the airstrikes, the United Nations called on Israel to stop attacking Palestine.
Based on media reports, about 3,500 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes so far.
The bombardment came on day 11 of the current conflict, with a growing international condemnation of the Israeli attacks.
Non-governmental groups and world leaders have call the Israeli bombing of Gaza health facilities, homes and worship places a violation of international law and may constitute a war crime.
