KABUL (Pajhwok): US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas West has met some Afghan men and women civil society activists and discussed with them a range of issues.
West and the activists discussed the effects of climate change on farmers in Afghanistan and efforts to initiate dialogue between the Islamic Emirate and local communities.
West wrote on his X handle: “Important to hear from Afghans across the country about their lives and daily experiences. I spoke yesterday with Afghan women and men civil society leaders in Afghanistan about a range of issues”.
He talked with Afghan activists about the effects of climate change on farmers and efforts to negotiate between the caretaker government of Afghanistan and the local communities.
He also talked about making sure that the international community’s help would strengthen women working in the fields of health and education.
West did not elaborate.
