KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Chinese officials have discussed strengthening of diplomatic ties between the two countries, with Chinese officials offering to assist refugees returning from Pakistan.
The Afghan Embassy in China wrote on its X handle that acting Afghan ambassador in China Sayed Muhiuddin Sadat met ambassador Zhang Maoming, deputy director-general of Asian Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It said both sides discussed strengthening diplomatic ties and giving scholarships to Afghan students in China for the next academic year.
Sadat briefed the meeting participants about Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan and highlighted measures taken by the caretaker government to welcome and assist them.
The Chinese official in addition to expressing sympathy to the Afghan refugees also pledged to assist them.
