FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Afghanistan’s remote northeastern Badakhshan province on Wednesday.
Mohammad Kamgar, head of the natural disaster management, said the epicentre was Rubat district that jolted the province capital, Faizabad City, and some other districts.
He said the quake occurred at around 4:35am at the depth of about 31 kilometres.
Information regarding damage or casualties was not immediately available.
