GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A person has been arrested for possessing nine kilograms of natural uranium in Gilan district of southern Ghazni province, police said on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Abu Khalid Sarhadi told Pajhwok Afghan News anti-terrorism forces acting on intelligence information arrested a person with nine kilograms of uranium in Gilan district.
He said the man who was arrested on Monday wanted to smuggle the uranium to Iran.
“The arrested person told his interrogators that he obtained the chemicals from a person who had obtained from a third person and he wanted to transfer it to Iran,” Sarhadi added . . .
