MoRR inks agreements worth over $1b with NGOs

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation (MoRR) on Wednesday announced signing three cooperation agreements with two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) worth more than one billion US dollars.

MoRR wrote on its X handle the agreements were signed between Maulvi Mahmood-ul-Haq Ahdi, legal advisor to MoRR, and deputy director of migrant affairs and representatives of the Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) and Organization for Coordination of Humanitarian Relief (OCHR).

It said under the agreements, IRW will distribute blankets and winter cloths worth $1,165,405 to 927 families in central Logar and Bamyan provinces.

It added as per the agreement with OCHR, the agency will spend about $376,955 on mobile toilets, installation of solar and water pumps, purchasing three generators, installation of solar lamps, modification of water tanks, provision of six garbage bins, distribution of tarpaulin tents, distribution of 518 sanitary bags, construction of 29 five-thousand-liter water reservoirs for 11,668 families of the returnees from Pakistan in their temporary camp in Nangarhar province.

A day earlier, MoRR announced signing a cooperation agreement with Initial Public Offering (IPO) worth about 15 million afghanis.
