KABUL (Pajhwo): The Ministry of Finance says customs duty has been increased from up to 40 percent on the imports of various goods like dried milk, paints, plastic disposable utensils, carpets, Turkish stoves, thresher machines and artificial cotton.
In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said the decision to increase customs duty on the mentioned goods had been taken by the Tariff Committee keeping in view domestic productions and government’s revenue.
It said customs duty on dried milk imported in sacks has been increased from five to 8 percent, on construction paint from 6.5 to 10 percent, plastic disposable utensils from 30 to 40 percent and on carpets from 25 to 30 percent.
The customs levy on Turkish stoves has been increased from 2.5 percent to 10 percent, on thresher machines from 10 to 16 percent, and on synthetic cotton from 2.5 to 8 percent.
