CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a man on charges of smuggling precious stones in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province.
Parwan police headquarters in a statement said the detainee was carrying scapolite gemstone in seven bags in a vehicle last night when he was arrested.
He wanted to smuggle the gemstone to Kabul from northeastern Badakhshan province.
The detainee would be handed over to the judiciary, pending an ongoing investigation, the police statement said.
