SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Over six kilometers Kohistanat district road in central Sar-i-Pul province have been leveled and graveled at the cost of 7.5 million afs, an official said on Monday.
Public Works Department Director Maulvi Asadullah Masror told Pajhwok Afghan News, the road was leveled and graveled in three months and was put into service today (Monday).
A private construction company implemented the project of that road which is seven meters wide and 6.5 kilometers long, he said.
The project cost 7.5 million afs which was paid from the budget of the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW), he said.
Masror said: “We graveled and leveled the Kohistanat to Sar-i-Pul 45 kilometers highway last year, only 3.5 kilometer of that road is left rough which will be included in our plan for the upcoming solar year.”
The construction of this road made it very easy for the residents of Kohistanat district to travel to other places, he added.
A resident of Kohistanat district, Mohammad Ali said the road was very rough and bumpy in the past, as it is graveled now the vehicles travel smoothly on it.
Abdul Wali is another resident of Pasani area of the same district, he said: “The road was very rough in the past, it broke down vehicles and the patients and agricultural products could not reach to their destinations on time, luckily most of the problems are solved now.”
