KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has approved 18 different projects worth four billion afghanis.
The NPC met under the chairmanship of deputy prime minister of economic affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, his office said in a statement.
“The routine meeting deliberated on the projects as per the agenda. Out of 28 projects put on the table, contracts for 18 province granted approval. Contracts for another five projects were referred to assigned committees for in-depth assessment, slated to be presented at the next NPC meeting for final approval.”
The remaining five projects were handed over to the Directorate of the National Procurement for a comprehensive contract evaluation, with a report to be shared with the NPC head.
These sanctioned projects are related to various ministries, including defense, interior, finance, public works, telecommunications and information technology, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and Kabul Municipality, with a total value of approximately four billion afghanis.
These projects include finalization of Chak Wardak dam, extension of the 220 KV power line from Arghanid to Ghazni, installation of insulators for the 220 KV Noorul Jihad line in Herat and Tor Ghondi, reconstruction of the Shahr-e-Safa to Manja road, completion of the second lane of the Kabul-Logar Road, provision of high-quality and fast internet services to citizens, and several others.
The successful completion of these projects is anticipated to generate employment opportunities for thousands of citizens.
