2 dams worth 7m afs being built in Paktika

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Construction work on two water storage dams has been initiated at a cost of seven million afghani sin southeastern Paktika province.

The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) said the dams were being built in the Sur Gul area of Sarobi district and the Todi locality of Mata Khan district.

A statement from MoEW the cost of the projects would be paid by the ministry. When completed, the dams will irrigate agriculture lands and raise underground water level.

The ministry also plans to build 25 small water storage dams at a cost of 75 million afghani in different parts of the province.
