ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Development projects worth 27 million afs of Kunar University in eastern Kunar province have been completed, an official said on Saturday.
Acting Higher Education Minister Nida Mohammad Nadim during the inauguration ceremony of the new Kunar University Building said a two story new building furnished with computer lab has been built and opened for service.
He said the roads concrete work also started today (Saturday) in the university.
Nadim said there was no place for Daesh and other forces activities in Afghanistan and warned people involved in subversive activities would be eliminated.
Syed Jamaluddin University Chancellor Prof. Mohibullah Mohib said the hostel construction was started in the previous government and still remained at half stage and the construction work did not resume.
He said: “The city of Asadabad is small and there is no suitable place for students to use it as a dormitory. It is necessary that the dormitory building of our university, of which 85 percent of the work has been completed, should also be completed in order to solve the problems of the students.”
He assured the university administration was committed to bring up students in line with the Islamic Emirate policy and guideline.
