Worker killed in Badakhshan goldmine collapse

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A worker has been killed in the collapse of a goldmine in Raghistan district of northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Monday.

Police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Khaldsak Zarandab area of the district on Sunday when miners were active inside the mine.

The body of the victim was recovered from the rubble and handed over to his relatives, Kamgar added.
