KABUL (Pajhwok): Forty-four students have completed training in the specialized freelancing program in the fields of electronic commerce, web design and graphic design as part of the three-month capacity development program by the Ministry of Information and Culture, an official said on Thursday.
These young graduates are supposed to teach others freelancing in the seven zones of the country in the future.
This programme was conducted by the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs (MoIC) with the financial support of a foreign NGO.
Youth Affairs Director Mawlavi Mohammad Younis Rashid during his speech on the occasion termed the competition of training by these youth a positive step towards job generation.
Referring to unemployment and the talented youth power in the country he said it was government responsibility to generate jobs for youth.
Acting Higher Education Minister Nida Mohammad Nadim said that every individual had responsibility to serve the country.
Referring to the importance of trade and commerce, he said businessmen would be together with the prophet (PBUH) in the hereafter.
He explained online business has good profit and asked youth not to migrate outside the country and improve their capacities by learning skills.
A number of the participants of this training program also pointed out the importance of online trade and asked the government to organize such training and capacity development programs in order to eliminate unemployment in the country.
It should be noted that freelancing or free business through the Internet has recently become popular in the world, and people are selling their skills all over the world to those who need them.
According to reports freelancers in US last year had $2.8 trillion income.
