ZARANJ (Pajhwok): The renovation and construction of 40 shops in Zaranj City, the capital of southwestern Zaranj province has started at a cost of more than 10 million afs, an official has said.
Zaranj City Mayor Mawlavi Salahuddin Mumtaz told Pajhwok Afghan News the construction and repair work of shops in Zaranj City market has started at a cost of nearly 10 million Afs. If the work is completed within 4 months, it would be put into operation.
Additionally, he said that besides the renovation work at Zaranj Market, the construction work of the 40-storey shop would cost one 1.8 million afs in the market of this city which would be put into operation within two months.
He pointed out that the expenses for the construction and repair of shops and market were provided from the development budget of the municipality.
Mumtaz said that with the implementation of this project, more job opportunities would be provided for the youth and the revenue of the municipality would increase.
Zaranj mayor said that new shops would be built and provided on rent for the applicants.
Mumtaz added that this year, 13 reconstruction projects worth more than 100 million Afs would be implemented from the municipality's budget.
