KABUL (Pajhwok): Switzerland has pledged $4.25 million for Afghan families returning from Pakistan and quake-affected people in western Herat province.
The Swiss embassy in Islamabad wrote on its X:handle: “Switzerland stands in solidarity with #Afghanistan extending USD 4.25 million to returning Afghan families from Pakistan and providing much-needed aid to earthquake-affected families in Herat.”
On October 7, an earthquake struck Herat’s Zinda Jan district, leaving over 2,000 people dead and more than 4,000 others injured.
More than 400,000 Afghan refugees have been evicted from Pakistan since November 1, when the neighbouring country launched a crackdown on undocumented aliens
